Term:
BestCostumeContest.com offers costume contests based on seasonal or holiday themes. The start and end date of each costume contest is provided in the rules of that contest.
Who may enter:
US Citizens ages 18 and over - except for individuals affiliated with the BestCostumeContest.com, Knight Multimedia, Specialty Marketing Service or any sponsor of specific contests or categories of any contest, as an owner, manager, employee, intern, volunteer, any of their immediate families (children, siblings and spouses) and others living in their households are eligible. BestCostumeContest.com will make final determination of winners' eligibility.
What to enter:
The contest categories are designed to be appropriate for the specific season or holiday:
- Halloween, this contest will include cateogries for pets, toddlers, children, teens, adults and families.
- Winter, this contest will include costumes celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Including Adult, child and pet categories.
- Valentine: Love is in the air and in this contest. Cateogries will be include adult, teens and couples.
- 4th of July: Categories include pet, toddler, child, teen and adult.
For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject's parent or guardian and provide it to BestCostumeContest.com upon request. A sample release is available at http://www.bestcostumecontest.com/ModelRelease.doc.
Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines and newspapers (except online) are not eligible. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's copyright are not eligible.
How to enter:
Please submit photographs on-line through our Web site at www.bestcostumecontest.com. We do not accept photographs submitted through the mail. Submit no more than seven (7) photographs per category. We do not accept more than one contestant per e-mail address.
High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible and reduced in size to be used on websites. Use the on-line entry form on our Web site. Complete a separate form for each photo submitted. Photographs must be in a .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format. Total of all files submitted may not be larger than 1,024kB (1Mb).
By entering the contest, entrants grant BestCostumeContest.com a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotion of the the BestCostumeContest.com website and it's sponsors web site(s). Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit. The BestCostumeContest.com will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. BestCostumeContest.com reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. All decisions of BestCostumeContest.com will be final.
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded approximately 30 days after the end of each contest. Prizes will be announced in the prizes page of the contest.
Winners must sign an affidavit and license and will be responsible for paying any taxes they may owe on a prize.
