Rules:
The 2009 Best Halloween Costume Contest opens for registration on September 1st, 2009 and new entrants will be accepted until 11:59:59pm eastern time on October 24th, 2009.
Who may enter:
US Citizens ages 18 and over - except for individuals affiliated with the BestCostumeContest.com, Knight Multimedia, Specialty Marketing Service or any sponsor of specific contests or categories of any contest, as an owner, manager, employee, intern, volunteer, any of their immediate families (children, siblings and spouses) and others living in their households are eligible. BestCostumeContest.com will make final determination of winners' eligibility.
What to enter:
Submit a digital image using our submission form that you have taken or have the right to publish featuring yourself, your spouse, your child, your grandchild, your pet or any combination of these subjects.
For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject's parent or guardian and provide it to BestCostumeContest.com upon request. A sample release is available at http://www.bestcostumecontest.com/ModelRelease.doc.
Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines and newspapers (except online) are not eligible. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's copyright are not eligible.
By entering the contest, entrants grant BestCostumeContest.com a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotion of the the BestCostumeContest.com website and it's sponsors web site(s). Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit. The BestCostumeContest.com will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. BestCostumeContest.com reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. All decisions of BestCostumeContest.com will be final.
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded approximately 30 days after the end of each contest. Prizes will be announced in the prize page of the contest.
Winners must sign an affidavit and license to release information to claim prize. Winners will be responsible for paying any taxes they may owe on a prize.
